Hi, I’m Matt

Most speakers will tell you their life fell apart before they figured things out.

Mine didn’t, and that’s kind of the point.

I’ve had a good life. A genuinely good one. And somewhere between 14 years inside a Fortune 25 company, growing up backstage at comedy clubs with my dad, loading my wife and twin daughters into a van for 18 months on the road, and crossing the finish line of an Ironman I’d been putting off for years, I noticed something:

We make things so much harder than they need to be.

Not because we’re not smart.

Not because we don’t care.

But because, when everything is loud and everything feels urgent and everyone is pulling on us all of the time, the “noise” starts choosing for us. And most of the time, we don’t even realize it’s happening.

I spent 14 years leading sales and support teams at one of America's most iconic brands, driving change in organizations with people who had competing priorities and not enough hours in the day.

People would end up chasing everything, prioritizing nothing, and convincing themselves that busy meant productive.

What I learned in the boardroom, on the road, and somewhere around mile 18 of that Ironman is that the clarity we seek so we can do work that matters isn’t complicated.

Getting there just takes the courage to stop doing what isn’t working and make the choice to do something different.

Most people are one good decision away from doing the best work of their lives.

But first, someone has to make them laugh long enough to listen—and that’s what I show up to do.

With the energy of someone who genuinely loves speaking, the instincts of someone who grew up watching his dad work a room, and frameworks that give audiences something they can actually use, I create experiences where people learn to make choices that actually change the way they work.

You already know what matters.

Let’s make sure it’s actually getting your time.

Official Bio

Matt Havens is a leadership and workplace culture keynote speaker who will make you laugh out loud right before he changes the way you think about work.

After 14 years leading sales and support teams across multiple U.S. locations, Matt found himself at the center of one of the most significant corporate transformations in recent memory—tackling a 99% turnover problem and helping drive a strategic overhaul that brought one of America’s most iconic brands back into the cultural conversation.

Today, he brings that same clarity to organizations navigating disruption, change, and the constant pressure to do more with less—helping leaders and teams cut through the noise, focus on what actually matters, and make better decisions about where their time and energy go.

Matt has worked with organizations including RE/MAX, Lockheed Martin, Baker Tilly, and Allstate, along with associations across nearly every major industry.

But Matt’s corporate experience is only part of the story.

The son of a headlining comedian, he grew up watching humor do something most people underestimate: make a room full of strangers willing to hear something that might actually change them. Today, he uses that same approach on stage—blending sharp insights with disarming humor to make complex challenges feel simple, relatable, and actionable.

With practical frameworks and real-world perspective, Matt helps audiences see their choices more clearly—and gives them the confidence to make the ones that move things forward.

When he’s not on stage, Matt lives what he teaches. When an Ironman kept sliding down his priority list, he signed up and crossed the finish line. When the world shut down, he loaded his wife and twin daughters into a van and spent 18 months exploring the country.

He lives in Dallas, TX with his wife Megan and twin daughters—and was almost certainly at the gym before your event started.
